If you haven’t heard the news yet, the federal government is starting another program to help consumers upgrade their old HVAC systems to new, high-efficiency units. The details are still being ironed out, but this program will run much like the highly-successful Cash for Clunkers program for the auto industry that just ended. The government is setting aside abuot $300 Million in rebates to homeowners that junk their old HVAC system in favor of a unit that is EnergyStar qualified. This program will likely start in the fall. We’ll keep you posted on the details.
