I Am Replacing A PSC Condenser Motor In A Rheem Unit And Need Help With Placing The Black And Yellow Wires.

I am replacing my condenser motor with a Universal PSC motor which is a three wire system to a four wire system. I do not have a schematic for my unit, but I have a schematic for new capacitor. The wires are brown and brown and white but I need help placing the black and yellow line wires.

I recommend the brown wire goes to the capacitor, the black wire goes to black and the white wire goes to the yellow. The brown with the white stripe is not used and needs to be capped off. To be sure your system runs correctly, contact a qualified contractor at www.acdoctor.com

Sometimes those are clockwise/counterclockwise motor rotation. Hold your hand over the top of condenser fan after installation & make sure you're getting strong upward airflow.
