Compare The Value Of Seer Levels (4 Or 5 Ton) With Heat Pump System

I'm buying a house and need to replace Heat Pump and A/C system for home built in 1990 ; 2500 sqft; Live in Central Fl; Very very concernd about monthly efficiency and cost of elec bill (very high cost , house in city limits); What tonnage and SEER rating will give me the lowest electric bill?

First and foremost, have a local reputable ac contractor perform a heatload calculation of your home. This calculation will determine the size of the new ac for your residence. DO NOT assume you can just install a four or five ton system in your home. More tonnage does not equate to better and more efficient energy use. It can have a dramatic effect on your comfort, health and utility bill by installing a system to large or to small. Get a certified heatload calculation.
